Research Interests:
I am an environmental archaeologist specializing in the zooarchaeology of the Viking-Age North Atlantic. My research focuses primarily on the human-environment dynamics of small-scale societies in the North Atlantic. In particular, I am interested in understanding how resilient and sustainable social-ecological systems are developed and maintained in marginal environments.
